On Sunday 8th of November the new Memorial Bench Seat was unveiled, by fund raiser Colin Kightley. At a downsized socially distanced ceremony, Colin explained how his interest in history and those that served in the two World Wars, led him to want to add something notable to the village that will remind us all of the sacrifices made. Colin raised money for the Memorial Bench Seat by selling some of his postcard collection and through donations from friends neighbours and the community. The bench base has been prepared by Mark Draddy and his work experience assistant Ollie Freeman, who both gave their time without payment to help support the much deserved cause. The event was videoed by Wayne & Adele Smith and can be viewed on YouTube by clicking this link. Thank you to all of you that helped to achieve another worthy asset for our village.
